I read the book, "The White House."
Did you know that Abigail Adams and John Adams was the first people to be in the White house?
President Jimmy Carter had a tree house in the white house backyard (which is called the south lawn.)
The White House set on fire because the British soldiers set it on fire. It was the night of August 24, 1814.
This book is 36 pages long.

Isabelle, what a neat book to read. I would really like to visit the White House someday! ~aunt jo
Have you ever visited the White House, Isa? It seems to me that you went, but I'm not sure if it was before they closed it to the public or not. I would love to just go exploring in there, wouldn't you? I read a book about the White House ladies one time and it was very interesting. The way they get lots of money just to decorate it their way!! Maybe someday you'll be the lady in the White House!! Will you invite me to lunch if you are?

It WAS a neat book. I think someday, you could go to Washington, D.C. and see the White House. Love, Isabelle
Isabelle,
What a good report! Grandma has been to the White House, but it was many, many years ago! I still remember how much I like it, however. Good job reading! Keep it up!

Isabelle, your book review had me on the edge of my chair. I was sad when it came to an end. Did they ever get the fire put out? Yes, of course they did. I was excited to see your book review. Grandpa Bixby is going to have one there one of these days, you just wait and see. I love you. Grandpa
